When you have a solar PV system installed at your residence/building, it will automatically feed the power you’ve generated to your common area or any other electrical load for that matter, so a lot of the power you use during the day will be free. An On – Grid Solar PV system often includes a Net-Metering Agreement. This means that when you produce extra power, you can export it back to the grid and receive a credit on your power bills. For the times when you use more than what you produce, you can import the difference from the grid and pay only for the difference.
Because you feed the excess power back to the grid for a credit, it is effectively “stored” for you until you need it. Usually, this means that you feedback the extra power in summer and then use the credits in winter when you need the power for consumption.
